A Vampire Grave Discovered in Bulgaria

A ''vampire grave" was said to be found and discovered in Bulgaria according to archaeologists. The "vampire grave" was said to be contained by a skeleton along with a stake driven through its chest. A crusading archaeologist named Professor Nikolai Ovcharov had made the discovery during excavating the ruins of Perperikon. Perperikon is an ancient Thracian city located in southern Bulgaria.

"We have no doubts that once again we’re seeing an anti-vampire ritual being carried out," said Professor Ovcharov. He explained that the metal was driven through the corpse to stop a "bad" person from rising from the dead and terrorising the living. Often they were applied to people who had died in unusual circumstances such as suicide." - Nikolai Ovcharov

It was also noted that the graves discovered was reminiscent and may be the usual grave to the first half of the 13th Century. According to Bozhidar Dimitrov, who runs the National History Museum in Sofia, that there were about hundreds of skeletons that have been unearthed and uncovered in Bulgaria.
