Senior Pentagon Chief Claims Nuclear Holocaust on 2016

With the current turn of events, one could easily have speculations that we are close in a very chaotic conclusion. And it looks like that this speculation is getting more legit as days go by. A former senior Pentagon chief have claimed that a terrorist attack using a nuclear bomb is about to ensue in 2016. Former US Defense Secretary William Perry says that there is indeed a very “real and growing danger” of a nuclear bomb or device that's being used against the U.S. and soon to the World. Will 2016 be the year of NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST?

He even said that he believed then and still believes that the world tries to avoid a nuclear holocaust as much by good luck as by good management. In an interview with reporters earlier this month, Perry recounted an incident in November 1979 when, as a senior Pentagon official, he was awakened by a 3:00 AM phone call from the underground command center responsible for warning of a missile attack. Perry said that the US nuclear force no longer needs land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) since they can now rely on the other two “legs” of the force. The ICBM should be scrapped, he says, adding,

“It was, of course, a false alarm, unique and chilling vantage point from which to conclude that nuclear weapons no longer provide for our security — they now endanger it. I don’t think it’s going to happen, but I think it should happen. They’re not needed ” - William Perry

Perry even opposes the Obama administration’s plan to build a new nuclear-capable cruise missile. His view at Russia’s nuclear modernization and US plans to spend hundreds of billions to update its nuclear arsenal leads him to see irrational nuclear competition.
“I see an imperative to stop this damn nuclear race before it gets under way again, not just for the cost but for the danger it puts all of us in,” - William Perry
